Talk to Text – Use Your Voice to Dictate Text

With the “TALK-TO-TEXT” feature, you can effortlessly dictate text in nearly any application or on any digital device. In this tutorial, we will discover how to save time and eliminate the need for typing by using this convenient feature whenever you can. Regardless of whether you’re using an Android or iOS operating system, you likely have this feature integrated as part of your initial app installation, and you may have already noticed the microphone icon on your phone’s keyboard. It’s available for Android versions 7 and newer, though you may need to activate it, which I’ll demonstrate shortly after explaining how to use this remarkable feature.
How to Use Talk-to-Text:
- Open any app where you want to enter text, such as Notes.
- Tap the text input area.
- At the top of your keyboard, press and hold the microphone icon.
- When you see “Speak now,” simply say what you want to be transcribed.
You can also use various punctuation marks, including periods, commas, exclamation points, question marks, and even commands for new lines and paragraphs.
How to Enable the Talk-To-Text Feature: To activate Dictation, navigate to Settings > General > Keyboard and enable “Dictation.”
