In this video, we are going to work on the content preparation. The form of the content that you need to record your videos in one take without the necessity to redo the shots is the script. We will discuss in other videos why we will use scripting for the short content and not outlining, cards, Teletext (text on screen), and so on. This will make sense to discuss when we are in the process of recording. Now, I need you to trust me that scripting is the best option for beginner video content creators.

We will script every word that we need to say and then emphasize it with bold font in the text so that we can easily orient in the content and repeat it. We don’t need to do it word by word. However, sometimes the keywords are the ones that we need to use for our speech to affect the listener.

100 Problems List

I start my scripting with a list of 100 problems that are broken down to:

• Problem Title
• Problem Detailed Description
• Gains If the Problem Will Be Solved
• Consequences of Neglecting the Problem
• Solution Steps

We have done it in the Product Creation Course, and you have a 100-problem list ready by now. To work on the script, I will need to hide all unnecessary columns so that I see only what is needed for me. You can also leave unhidden the column reason for your concern. The rest of the columns are for you to be able to sort out the priorities of topics. Start with the priority topics. Filter your problems by those you care about the most. This will help you in the beginning of your recording journey because it will have more live emotion. The file is ready for you to work on.

Scripting Process

Time to write the script. In this process, we will also need the list of hook phrases I gave you in the previous lesson. We start with compositing text from the 100 Problems List and the hooks and will follow up by formatting text: making headings and turning it into bold font.

Formatting text is handy to simplify your recording process. Yes, you are spending more time on preparation so that you will record your content on camera with confidence and economy of time.

Look at one of your problems breakdown in the list. Analyze how you can combine some of the content with one of the hooks. For this, you take each hook type and see if it fits the content. There will be more than one script coming from one problem aspect.
