In this lesson I will explain how does the book conception starts and how to get a unique book concept. After this lesson you will start your Idea Conception Process.

I did not title this lesson as a “book concept” because we will work on the key thesis of the book later. Instead, it is called “idea conception”, because it is just the beginning of the process.

v Unique Concept

I use the word CONCEPTION intentionally so that you can link it to a conception of the child.

What is conception: connecting of two cells with different DNA into one cell that later develops into an organism. DNA is an information holder. So you connect two ideas, two perspectives, who visions into one.

§  DNAs Uniqueness

Do you know that there are no people with same DNA except twins, DNA code is unique? Usually, the uniqueness of DNA comes from just 0.1% difference with the rest of the world. So largely all the DNA’s are same 99,9 % and just this small difference makes your DNA be different from DNA of any other person in the world.

Just this 0.1 % make you have your fingerprints unique, your eye retina unique, you face features unique, it influences your personality traits and everything that make you different from any other person in the world.

Just like DNA information is 99,9 % shared with the rest of the world, the information known to people about different problems and their solutions are 99,9% shared.

You can’t write a book filled in with a totally new information 100%, 99% of it will be repeating what other people have already discovered. But where is the uniqueness then? There is 0.1 % of your totally new, never seen perspective. Your perspective.

So you will use the knowledge that is out there in the world. But your task is to figure out the concept that is unique. Maybe there is someone who has the same concept.. but your perspective on this concept can’t be the same.

So what is the concept:

1. something conceived in the mind: thought, notion 
2. an abstract or generic idea generalized from particular instances (Marriam Webster Dictionary)

Since the “Conceive” means “to become pregnant”, you have to become pregnant with an idea.

v Where to begin the idea conception

To conceive the idea for a self-help book we need to work on the problem that we are currently facing. It has to be fresh problem, the problem that you are in the middle of, you are living through it right now and you can’t figure out how to fix it yet. All you knew about this problem before does not work, you got into a totally new circumstances in which you can’t seem to be able to get out.

It has to be the problem you want to get rid of, solve for your self because it is devastating for you right now.

Everyone has situations like this in life. We could look fine, even be happy, but there is always an unresolved problem that we are going through and the consequences of not dealing with or dealing with it ineffectively keep coming back to you and throwing you out of the horse sit.

That is the problem you need to identify and this is what we will work on.
