Analysis of Competitor’s Channels (Part 1)

Analysis of your competitor gives you an advantage among other YouTube creators because you will use the insights acquired by people who succeeded in your niche already. It is not necessary that you are going to copy what they are doing exactly, but you will be able to copy what works for them.

So how do you find what worked for your competitors?

You need to know what to look at. What makes the channels successful.

  • Criteria of successful channels

There is no one factor that works for the success of the video but many. Understanding and applying these keys properly is what defines success of the channel. Combination of factors that defines success of the channel are the following:

  • Search term
  • SEO Score
  • Thumbnails
  • Titles
  • Video Quality
  • Sound
  • Video Structure
  • Content Quality
  • Engagement
  • Consistency of publishing

And ofcourse 

  • Subscribers count
  • Views count and
  • Earnings

This is general information we collect about competitors that allows us to understand what makes channel successful. But again even if the channel checks out all boxes it does not mean it will be successful, many things depend on the 

  • Personality/Charisma
  • Performance
  • Style
  • Issues addressed
  • Audience chosen
  • Industry

And we are not going to look into those criteria right now. It is already a deeper knowledge that you need to facilitate you channel growth. You don’t need it for starters. We make a simple analysis for self education.
