How to Choose Search Terms for the Script

Choose search terms with the least competition as a priority. The best search terms are those with a high score and greater demand. Since we are starting with a very narrow audience, this approach will help you attract initial viewers. Once you’ve captured this audience, you’ll be able to work with broader search terms, and your channel will start growing exponentially.

Sort your search terms by the Score column.

It’s better to choose search terms used by your direct competitors (there are typically only 7–10, and you might already know them).

• Do these search terms appear in your competitors’ most successful videos? If so, this is the right choice.
• If the available search terms are not used by your competitors because they are already established and don’t need to target low-competition search terms, focus on the low-competition terms but learn from your competitors’ video ideas.

How to Generate an Idea with VidIQ

Once you’ve identified a competitor video with “affordable search terms,” go to VidIQ’s Generate Idea section and insert the idea. VidIQ will provide you with:

• A title for the idea
• Search terms for the idea
• A description of the video
• A thumbnail idea
• An outline

Now, update your Content Calendar in Notion to keep track of what you’re working on.

Design a Thumbnail Concept

Using the instructions from previous videos, use VidIQ to generate a thumbnail concept. This doesn’t have to be the final thumbnail—it’s just for capturing ideas. After editing your video, you can take a frame from the video or create a new picture in the same outfit you wore during filming. Then, combine the elements into a thumbnail using Canva.

How to Write an Outline with VidIQ

Based on the video structure, work on an outline. The outline includes everything you want to cover in each element of the structure.

Once your outline is ready, you can use VidIQ Pro or ChatGPT to generate a script. Before diving into scripting, don’t forget to add all the collected information to your Notion database.

How to Turn It Into a Script

Turning the outline into a script is as simple as clicking a button. AI will help you with the phrasing. You don’t have to use the exact wording provided; feel free to adjust it to sound more natural or follow the AI’s instructions to learn.
