Content Development Work Plan
In this lesson, you will explore a strategic content development plan that emphasizes task grouping for efficiency and skill enhancement. We will introduce various content types, highlighting the significance of preparing your website content thoroughly. From understanding the pivotal role of the Home Page to navigating the specifics of Legal Content, this session will provide you with a concise roadmap for crafting a professional and effective website. Get ready to dive into the intricacies of content development and set the foundation for your online presence.
Let’s start working on the content of our sites. I like grouping repetitious tasks. It makes work faster and more efficient because we eliminate the time our brain needs to switch from one task to another. Also, grouped tasks allow us to sharpen our skills since we keep repeating the same task, so the lessons from the previous execution of the task are yet very fresh and you can improve the next task. Considering this and our tight schedule, we will work on our website content by grouping similar tasks. Most of the website content at the first stage is text-based. So, you should expect a lot of writing and you will need to improve your skills of working with the text documents because we are not touching the website without having the content ready. Remember to use voice dictation to save time on typing. We will work a lot with ChatGPT to help us put our ideas into a proper form.
Content Types
Here are the content types we will work on:
- Basic Content
- Shop
- Blog
- Marketing Content
- Legal

Let’s have a look at what each of these types means:
Basic Content
Basic content is essential content for your business. It is the basis of your website. It represents you and all you do. It includes the development of selling text, also called copy. This means that you will develop the skills of copywriting and presenting your products and services.

Home Page
The Home Page will briefly showcase all the content of your website. It will be:
- Presenting you
- Showing your books, courses, and services, blog posts, and
- Invite visitors to action Also, the main banner of this page can include promotions and discounts of the season.
The rest of the content types:
Shop Content
Shop Content displays products in your shop and also has catalogues where the shop content is grouped based on specific criteria.

Blog Content
Blog content type is articles that we will be writing using the 100 Problems List we have worked on before and the PDIS scheme. Also, this content will be divided into categories.

Marketing Content
Marketing Content is Landing Pages. They look like a Home Page that showcases your products and services but are dedicated to only one product. This work also requires copywriting skills.

Legal Content
Legal Content is what different platforms like payment gateways, Facebook, and Google require from your website to be safe for their customers. You would say: what do they have to do with my website? Your website is not living out of the global network and its safety challenges. So, for you to use Facebook, Google, PayPal or Stripe for advertisement or business transactions down the line, you will need to align with their requirements. Also, the proper approach in this area makes your website look professional and trustworthy.

Tasks Prioritization
The order in which this work should be done doesn’t matter. But in our case, the best would be to start with Basic Content and organically move from Home Page Creation to Landing Pages Development, since, as you have understood from what I have shared before, they will be somewhat similar.
