Why Landing Pages?

Your potential customer lands on your page—on your website. Here’s how it unfolds: Somewhere on social media, you create a video or a live broadcast discussing your book or course. Those interested in more information about your offering need a designated space to find this information—a space meticulously designed not just to display information but to CONVINCE THE VISITOR TO BUY IT NOW. This pivotal space is known as the landing page because, after acquainting themselves with you and learning about your solution to their problem, visitors FINALLY LAND ON THE PAGE WHERE THEY CAN GET THE PRODUCT.

Typically, in advertising and online business, the Landing Page is where people “land” after clicking on an advertisement or a link. It serves as a crucial element in the Sales Funnel, often the final stage where the customer takes the desired step. However, Landing Pages can also function as a tool for direct sales. You engage with someone, discuss their problem via messenger, introduce your solution briefly, and then direct them to a landing page link—letting the Landing Page do the rest and saving you time.

How Do Landing Pages Work?

Building upon your copywriting knowledge, selling through a landing page involves:

  • Benefits of the product
  • Ensure credibility
  • Create scarcity
  • Call your customer to action

Additionally, a successful landing page must:

  • Blend in storytelling elements
  • Present information compactly and clearly
  • Give a concise and emotionally appealing message

Crucially, what sets Landing Pages apart from Home Pages is their focus on ONE ACTION ONLY.

One Action Focused

A Landing Page should revolve around a singular action. There cannot be two actions on the Landing Page. Everything on it should work toward one and only one action. Possible actions include:

  • Subscribe to a program
  • Enroll in a course
  • Book a call
  • Buy a product
  • Register for coaching
  • Download a tracker
  • And other, depending on the product you promote.

Sometimes there might be a few options, but they should all lead to the same ultimate action.

Navigation Bar Hidden

An interesting characteristic of Landing Pages is the absence of a navigation bar. This is intentional, aiming to maintain focus on the singular action.

Landing Page Structure

As you might anticipate, Landing Pages for books and courses will not have an identical structure. While it might be challenging to use the same template for a Book Landing Page and a Course Landing Page, the good news is that you can use the same structure for the same type of products. Once you create a Landing Page for a book, for instance, you can reuse it as a template, only adjusting details such as the book cover, title, description, and contents while keeping elements like the author’s bio and the call to action consistent. This approach applies to other product types as well.

In the upcoming lessons, we’ll delve into crafting content for Landing Pages for books, courses, downloads, coaching, and more.
